This place is truly hidden - you'd not think a place in a little Safeway strip mall would be worthwhile, but this new addition to the area is quite good! Their nigiri is great - not as fabulous as Higashi West, but then again, it's not as expensive or crowded and they've got better service. ;) They've also got great sashimi and tempura - the scallops practically melt in your mouth, after they've burned your tongue if you eat them too soon.

On the down side, we've had a bit of unpleasantness on our last two visits. I often order the sashimi appetizer, and the two most recent visits have featured still-frozen-in-the-middle salmon. Once I've pointed it out, and I received extra tuna as a replacement. I'm hoping it's just a seasonal problem, but it's made me less eager about this place.

On the up side, Aaron consistently loves their chicken teri-don. Chicken teriyaki and vegetables over rice, with a plethora of sauce. It's one of the rare times Aaron actually eats his vegetables. ;)

Food: 5 - good sushi, ok sashimi, great chicken teri-don and tempura
Ambience: 4 - clean and well-lit, but it definitely has the strip mall feel
Service: 5 - it's usually good service, but sometimes hard to get someone's attention to get anything later on during the meal
Overall: 5 - used to be a 6, but lately they've been slipping. still good sushi and a good price.
